The “SEE MIL” platform – the Regional Platform for Media and Information Literacy (MIL) in South East Europe, is an online platform with the central purpose of gathering information on the progress achieved in the area of MIL through different projects implemented in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Turkey, as well as in Kosovo* (as defined by UN Security Council Resolution 1244). It rests on the need to offer a “navigation space” to the stakeholders in the region working on MIL that will help them familiarise themselves with the implemented activities and the achieved output in different MIL projects in the region.

The platform is created under the framework of the UNESCO EU-funded project “Building Trust in Media in South East Europe and Turkey – Phase 2,” that aims, among others, to increasing critical thinking among youth in the region through the piloting of MIL in formal and informal education. Through the other components, the project aims to improve the capacities of media outlets to counter disinformation and strengthen media good governance and accountability towards users by supporting self-regulation mechanisms.
